As prices of ammunition and components rise we have had numerous incidents of rifle and pistol shooters
scavenging brass and even digging lead out of the berms.

Please note: Centerline's policy is you may collect your own brass however range fees nor membership gives
anyone salvage rights to spent brass or lead on the ranges.

Digging lead out of the berms has escalated erosion problems. Any brass not collected by the shooter who shot
it belongs to Centerline. We have resisted increasing membership dues and range fees. We believe with all the
other increases in the cost of shooting that is the last thing Centerline shooters need. Please help us keep costs
down by protecting our resources, including the income generated by salvaging the metals from Centerline's
ranges.

Remember also that posted range rules include the use of paper targets ONLY. Sunday, June 21st we had a
family using the wide 50 yard range late in the day. Upon inspection of the ranges prior to closing we found
multiple holes and ruts 4 feet and longer cut in the ground, 25 to 35 yards out from the berm. At first glance you
may not see the problems this causes. Cutting grooves in the ground with rifle fire causes erosion, makes
mowing harder and rougher, and may encourage others with as little self control to try it. The most dangerous
impact however is the high probability of ricochet. Sunday was a 3-D archery shoot, with the archery course
sitting directly behind the range berms.

If this kind of activity, not following posted rules on the range 1) Paper targets only, 2) Targets must be against
the berm, does not stop we will be forced to suspend use of the ranges during 3-D Archery Shoots. The 3-D
Shoot calendar may be seen on the
Archery page.

Additionally, though this is not posted on the Range Rules board, there is absolutely NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED
on the ranges. This has always seemed a no-brainer, however recently we have had beer cans used as targets
(again not exactly paper) which raised two concerns; were they drank on the range? And where were they when
they got shot up?

Please, you are the best range safety control because you are there. Let me know if you see something
happening you have concerns about, or know is against the rules. We have to all hold each other accountable for
safety and for the preservation of this great gun club.
